Race Procedure and Scoring
The races are run counter-clockwise on speedway or dirt tracks, usually on an oval, or in some cases with right-hand turns and jumps (TT layout).
Generally, up to 12 riders start together in the final of each class.
There are two different starting formats for the heats, which the organizer can choose depending on the track and the number of registered riders.
The starting rows are 8 meters apart. Row 1 is the start/finish line. The penalty line is 10 meters behind the last starting line.
**The recommended number of laps refers to a track length of approximately 400 meters.
1. Prerequisites for Participation
The rider must be registered for the race and approved by the organizer. The motorcycle and protective gear must be inspected and approved by the responsible examiners and marked accordingly.
The rider must be objectively and subjectively, physically and mentally capable of participating in a race. Participation under the influence of alcohol or drugs is prohibited.
2. Practice
Before a rider is allowed to participate in a race event, they must complete two practice sessions of at least two minutes each on the track on race day.
Practice sessions will be held in the respective classes in which the riders have registered for the event.
The organizers reserve the right to make changes to the individual classes. This may be done for safety reasons in favor of the riders or due to significant differences in performance within the field.
If there are fewer than eight entries in a class, the riders will be integrated into another class.
3. Heats
The heats serve as qualification for the final. During the heats, riders receive points based on their position when crossing the finish line.
To score points, the rider must cross the finish line. The motorcycle must be functioning properly.
Each rider will start at least once from each starting row. The exchange between outside and inside starting positions will also be ensured as far as possible.
There are 3 (or 4) heats per rider. The total number of heats depends on the number of starters in a class and can be up to 6 heats per class.

4. Final
Depending on the number of points riders receive after the heats, they qualify for the final or are eliminated. The rider with the most points chooses their starting position first, followed by the rider with the next highest score, and so on.
Once all 8/12 starting positions for the final are filled, the other riders with lower scores are automatically eliminated and thus do not qualify for the final race.
In the event of a tie between two riders, the rider who crossed the finish line in the better position in the last heat will be considered the winner.
All riders start the final race with a score of 0. Points earned in the heats do not count towards the final standings.
To score points, the rider must cross the finish line. The motorcycle must be functioning correctly.

6. Series Ranking
If more than three events are part of the racing series in a season, the worst result of any race for all participating drivers will be dropped at the end of the season.
7. Starting Procedure
If a driver is not ready to start within 2 minutes after the access road from the paddock to the track has closed, they will be disqualified from that race.
The starting signal is given by a starting light. The lights are on from the point of entry from the paddock. The starting signal is given by the lights going out. If no starting light is available, a start/finish flag or the national flag may be used as a substitute. The flag is held up. The starting signal is given by quickly lowering the flag.
If a driver causes a false start, the race will be stopped and a restart ordered. The driver who caused the false start will then start from the penalty line.
If the same driver causes a false start again, the referee may disqualify the driver from the race.
8. Disqualification
If a rider is not ready to start within 2 minutes after the access from the paddock to the track has been closed, they will be disqualified from that race.
If both wheels of a rider’s motorcycle cross the inside boundary of the track, the rider will be disqualified unless, in the referee’s opinion, this was done in the interest of safety, to avoid another rider, or because the rider was forced off the track by another rider. This rule also applies if both wheels of a rider’s motorcycle cross the outside boundary of the track.
If the same rider commits a false start twice in one race, the referee may disqualify the rider from the race.
9. Race Cancellation
If, in the referee’s opinion, a race should be cancelled in the interest of safety due to an accident on the track, the referee is authorized to do so. The rider(s) who caused the cancellation will be excluded from restarting the race.
The referee may allow any rider who crashed due to a foul, dropped their motorcycle, or left the track for safety reasons to restart. In such a situation, outside assistance will be disregarded.
Any rider affected by a race restart may change motorcycles.
In the case of a 6-lap race cancellation:
If 1 or 2 laps have been completed by all riders still on the track at the time of the cancellation, the race will be restarted from the original starting positions.
– If 3 or 4 laps have been completed by all drivers still in the race at the time of the stoppage, the race will be restarted based on the current standings (see starting grid below) for the remaining race distance.
– If 5 or 6 laps have been completed by all drivers still in the race at the time of the stoppage, the result will be determined based on the positions at the time of the stoppage.
In the event of a race being stopped (over 8 laps):
– If 1 or 2 laps have been completed by all drivers still in the race at the time of the stoppage, the race will be restarted from the original starting positions.
– If 3 to 6 laps have been completed by all drivers still in the race at the time of the stoppage, the race will be restarted based on the current standings (see starting grid below) for the remaining race distance.
– If 7 or 8 laps have been completed by all drivers still in the race at the time of the stoppage, the result will be determined based on the positions at the time of the stoppage.
… If a race is stopped after more than two laps from the start but more than two laps from the finish,
in each case based on the distance covered by all riders still on the track at the time of the stoppage,
the riders will start staggered, one behind the other, in the
same order as in the last fully completed lap before the race was stopped.
The referee’s decision regarding this starting order is final; no protest or appeal is permitted.
Riders must maintain a distance of one meter from each other, and the leader may choose their starting position on the inside or outside of the starting line.
